Volunteer

We are pleased to welcome campers, seasonal staff, and volunteers back onsite for " 2021 Camp Trusted Parents", summer camp program! In our planning of designing and operating our summer program, we will closely follow summer camp guidelines and recommendation from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the American Camp Association (ACA), and our local government officials. This summer more than ever, we need volunteers to help us carry out the traditional core values of our camp in a safe, creative, and fun way!

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects of the way we will operate our camp, but the changes made are to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our camp's participants. We are asking all volunteers this summer to help support the implementation of these changes. Flexibility and patience are necessary skills to have as we head into a summer full of newness; new challenges, new guidelines, new procedures, new opportunities; but most of all, new adventures.

The following are general guidelines for in person volunteerism to help keep volunteers safe so they can help the campers, and we can get through this summer safely and healthy together!

General Guidelines for Volunteers

  • Do NOT show up to volunteer for any activity if in the last 14 days you have:
    • Traveled to any foreign country or large metropolitan city.
    • Been on a cruise or been in an airport.
    • Been around anyone who has COVID-19.
    • Been to an event where there was more than 250 people.
  • The size of volunteer groups will be limited to be able to maintain a safe distance. We will follow the most current local guidelines for gathering sizes.
  • All volunteers and staff are required to properly wear face masks or coverings (covering the nose and mouth) while working or volunteering in close proximity with other volunteers, staff, or the public.
  • All volunteers will be required to answer the pre-health screening questions each day before their shift. These questions will be provided in an app that all camp participates will have access to.
  • Everyone should avoid close contact including handshakes, high-fives, and hugs with fellow camp participants (especially campers) and should maintain 3-6-foot social distancing.
  • All volunteers and staff will practice universal infection control precautions: Clean and wash hands before, during, and after shifts.
  • Access to hand sanitizer will be provided to all volunteers and staff.
  • CTP staff will continue increase sanitizing measures for all tools, materials, and supplies.

We know these guidelines are changing rapidly and we are prepared to adapt as needed. However; we also know that how we embrace the summer of 2021 is a role modeling opportunity of a lifetime. As a volunteer, you can set the tone for campers on how a community comes together and responds to challenges with love and understanding.
