At Explore ADL our mission is to provide a program where individuals can meet regularly and receive the support needed to Explore a World of Possibilities through social integration and practical life skill development.
What is Explore ADL?
Explore ADL was created for young adults 18 and older with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (our Explorers), who have graduated from high school and still need the support of the community to thrive to their fullest potential. The targeted goal is to provide activities that will build and encourage confidence in our participants. Explore ADL focuses on the following two aspects that makes up its core foundation.
-
Community Access Service offers activities and outings designed to give our Explorers a socially engaging experience with their peers and the community. This component of the program encourage participants to develop, maintain, and/or support self-advocacy and self-determination.
-
Instructional Program offers a physical location that will help individuals gain self-awareness, acceptance, inner strength, and life strategies to live a more independent life all while offering skills centered around basic life skills, goal setting, execution of functional skills, emotional regulation, social integration, and job training.
Explore ADL curriculum will combine both of these aspects monthly in a schedule that has been designed to help our participants gain self-awareness, acceptance, inner strength, and life filled with meaningful connections.
